Lamborghini creates the best returns in the VW Group

Dusseldorf The Volkswagen Group has a new yield king. It is no longer Porsche that holds the top spot as the most profitable subsidiary, but the Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini. “We achieved a return on sales of 20.2 percent last year,” CEO Stephan Winkelmann told journalists. The group’s own competitors from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen achieved a return of 16.5 percent in 2021.

In fact, the Italian super sports brand has been ahead of Porsche for a long time when it comes to returns. But so far Lamborghini had never made its own margin public. Within the Volkswagen Group, the manufacturer belongs to the group of premium brands led by Audi, which also includes Bentley and the motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. Previously, the key financial figures for the various brands were only summarized in the Audi Group result.
