Frankfurt After a period of weakness caused by the pandemic, the four leading auditing and consulting groups in Germany have returned to a clear growth course. The current figures and forecasts from PwC, EY, KPMG and Deloitte give little indication of an impending recession. The increasing need for advice from corporate customers in matters of sustainability and digitization also promises significant increases in sales for 2023.
This trend was also confirmed by KPMG, which was the last of the four leading auditing firms to present its figures for the past financial year on Thursday. In the period up to the end of September, the company increased its total output in Germany by nine percent to 2.17 billion euros. According to its own statements, the group started the new financial year with double-digit growth.
KPMG is thus still number three among the “Big Four” ahead of Deloitte and was able to close the gap to the second in the industry, EY. The competitor, shaken by the Wirecard scandal, reported annual sales of 2.21 billion euros on Monday.
