Dusseldorf The supplier Knorr- Bremse and CEO Jan Mrosik are going their separate ways. Knorr-Bremse announced on Friday that Mrosik was leaving the company at the end of April and was stepping down from the Executive Board with immediate effect. The supervisory board decided unanimously under its outgoing boss Klaus Mangold. The separation takes place “on the best of terms”. Mrosik has only been CEO at Knorr- Bremse since the beginning of 2021. It is the third change of management at the MDax company within three years.

CFO Frank Markus Weber will take over Mrosik’s duties until a new CEO is found. The Supervisory Board has initiated the search for a successor. “The rapid global change processes in the crisis-ridden development of the world economy and the enormous dynamics of the markets will be of particular importance in the requirement profile.”

Mrosik had switched from Siemens to the truck and rail supplier. At the Munich-based company, he was Chief Operating Officer of the Digital Industries division. He came from power distribution, but quickly familiarized himself with the industrial business. Under his leadership, the flagship division Digital Factory developed well.

Mrosik’s predecessor, former Linde board member Bernd Eulitz, was only in office for ten months. Like his predecessor Klaus Deller, he had to leave prematurely due to a dispute with the company patriarch Heinz Hermann Thiele, who has since died. Mrosik’s contract was actually supposed to run for three years. Last summer he caused astonishment with an attempt to take over the automotive supplier Hella, which quickly failed again.

CFO Weber should now ensure continuity according to Mangold’s ideas. Knorr- Bremse announced that his contract had been extended by five years. Bernd Spies, who has been responsible for the commercial vehicle division for eight years, has also been promoted to the Management Board with immediate effect.

The 78-year-old former Daimler manager Mangold is resigning from his position as chairman of the supervisory board at the annual general meeting in May, as the company announced in February. His successor is the outgoing Infineon CEO Reinhard Ploss.
