KGM announced: OGS is being removed! How long can we use it?

Automatic Pass System (OGS), started to be used in 1999 as a system used on toll roads in Turkey and aiming to ensure collection without waiting at the toll booths. But after all these years, it was removed to avoid confusion, reduce workload and increase efficiency.

Germany gives the green light to self-driving cars on highways

The bill, which is waiting to pass the parliament in Germany for driverless vehicles, will allow these cars to pass on public roads.

The expiry date for OGS is March 31!

Currently, 2 different systems, OGS and HGS, are actively used in our country’s highways. The biggest difference between them in terms of vehicle owners is that while a battery-operated matchbox-sized device is used in OGS, it is enough to stick a sticker on the window of your vehicle in HGS.

In fact, although both systems offer similar features, it is stated that HGS provides a great advantage in terms of both workload and cost. In addition, the use of more than one system on highways can create confusion for drivers approaching the toll booth.

However, the General Directorate of Highways shared the press release regarding the abolition of OGS in its social media post today. He also said that it will be kept active until March 31 due to the time required by the complete HGS conversion and the removal of OGS recognition devices.

It was shared that citizens who are already using OGS can go to the bank where they purchased the device and change it free of charge with the HGS label to be given. In addition, the bank accounts they have used will be automatically converted to HGS accounts. However, from April 1, only HGS will be valid on all highways.
