Washington The day that Joe Biden announced his campaign for re-election made it clear how the US President wants to be seen: solid, reliable, valued by international partners.

In the morning, his team released a video message in which Biden swears by the cohesion of the United States. In a few hours he will be making a speech in a Washington hotel and discussing his industrial policy. In the evening, Biden finally receives South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in the White House.

There had been speculation for months as to whether Biden would run again. Now, exactly four years after the start of his 2020 election campaign, he has officially announced that he wants to get back into the running for the presidency. At 80, Biden is the oldest US President of all time.
