Frankfurt The dramatic turnaround in interest rates by the central banks is causing historic turbulence on the bond markets. This has catapulted interest rate yields to levels last seen in more than a decade. Professional investors are therefore taking a closer look at bonds, which have long been considered unattractive. What bonds are now offering again and what the risks are.

The most important central bank in the world, the Fed in the USA, pushed ahead. It has raised its key interest rate by three percentage points since mid-March. There have not been such significant increases in interest rates in such a short time for over 40 years. The European Central Bank (ECB) has also abandoned its zero interest rate policy and has increased interest rates by 1.25 percentage points since July.
