According to the report of independent researchers, app developers bypass App Tracking Transparency and follow iOS users. Developers follow users through a code. In the study, 1759 applications with and without Application Tracking Transparency were compared. A quarter of the apps followed not using any user data. Our findings show that tracking companies, especially larger companies with access to huge first-party treasures, continue to follow users behind the scenes. They can do this in a number of ways, including using IP addresses to link setup-specific identities between apps, and sign-in functionality provided by individual apps (e.g. Google or Facebook sign-in or email address).
