According to the report of independent researchers, app developers bypass App Tracking Transparency and follow iOS users. Developers follow users through a code. In the study, 1759 applications with and without Application Tracking Transparency were compared. A quarter of the apps followed not using any user data. However, according to the results percentage 80 of them it still collects data by tracking users. Independent researchers made the following statement on the subject:
Our findings show that tracking companies, especially larger companies with access to huge first-party treasures, continue to follow users behind the scenes. They can do this in a number of ways, including using IP addresses to link setup-specific identities between apps, and sign-in functionality provided by individual apps (e.g. Google or Facebook sign-in or email address).
The necessary applications on the subject did not make any explanation. It is eagerly awaited whether Apple will do anything about this situation.
