There is also a possibility that what is written in this code is for Apple Pencil users who use the USB-C connector. However, the possibility of a 3rd generation Apple Pencil compatible with all iPad models seems even higher.
Apart from Apple Pencil, the only different detail in the iOS 17.1 beta 2 developer version is currently iPhone ringtones. As you know, iPhone 20 got a new ringtone with iOS 17. However, these new ringtones were removed in iOS 17.1 beta 1. Now Apple has brought these new ringtones again.
iOS 17.1 beta 2 developer version and features
Apple released version 17.1 beta 2 as part of the Developer Program. To have this update, you must already have a Developer Account. The missing features that we previously encountered in beta 1 are now also included in the beta 2 version.
Accordingly, features such as Diaries, creating a joint playlist for Apple Music, and continuing AirDrop transfer over the Internet, which did not come with the iOS 17 update, were introduced.
You will be able to use Journal for iPhone users to note your daily activities. It will also be possible to record your activities more easily by adding other iOS applications such as Sleep, Fitness and Breathe to this new application.
Among the features of iOS 17.1 beta 2, Apple music favorite adding and song recommendation stand out. Accordingly, you will be able to add tracks and artists to favorites with the Apple Music application. The application will be able to make suggestions for you based on your favorites and the music you listen to.
Other features coming with iOS 17.1 are as follows:
- AirDrop update
- AirDrop transfers can now be completed over cellular or Wi-Fi when you go out of range of the person you’re sharing with.
- There’s a new out-of-range toggle in the AirDrop section of settings that you can toggle to allow or disallow transfers over the cellular network.
- NameDrop with Apple Watch
- With watchOS 10.1 and iOS 17.1, an Apple Watch and an iPhone can now be used to exchange contact information via the NameDrop feature.
- Ringtones and Text Tones
- More than 20 new ringtones and text tones added to the launch version of iOS 17 disappeared in the first beta of iOS 17.1. However, it is here again with iOS 17.1 beta 2 version.
In the release notes published by Apple, there are statements that some bugs have been fixed. Many problems have been eliminated, especially in terms of Apple Pay and Wallet connection. However, Apple Pay cannot be used in Turkey yet.
How to install Apple developer beta?
First you need to open a developer account. To do this, you have to pay Apple $99 every year. Of course, we should point out that when you want to buy at the Turkish price, it is much cheaper.
However, if you are already using a developer account, you can download the latest beta version from the Apple Developer Center by clicking here. Then, after the appropriate profile is downloaded to your device, you can complete the installation process from the Software Update section in System Preferences.
You can also configure your iOS device by going to the betaprofiles page by clicking here instead. Then, you can follow the instructions on the screen by going to Settings>Profile options. These are as follows:
Go to the betaprofiles site whose link we shared above.
Download the iOS 17 beta profile via the “iOS 17 Download” option.
Go to Settings on your iPhone.
Click on Profiles.
Tap Install Profile.
After the downloaded file is installed, click on the reboot device option.
Once your device is turned on, enter Settings again.
Click General, then Software Update.
Finally, click on the Download option that appears here.
