Frankfurt The Ukraine war ensures that the western states push ahead with the transition of the energy supply to renewable energies. For private and professional investors, the focus is on an innovative investment concept with which investors can participate in the energy transition and other infrastructure projects: the European Long Term Investment Fund (Eltif).
The European Union (EU) created this fund vehicle seven years ago, which is intended to give wealthy private investors uniform, regulated access to illiquid asset classes throughout Europe.
After a slow start, the market is now picking up speed. Based on a survey of asset managers, the analysis company Scope estimates the market volume at the end of December 2021 at EUR 7.2 to 7.7 billion for 53 products. In April 2021, the estimate was still 2.4 billion euros.
