Private investors can now also invest in large projects for renewable energy via so-called Eltifs.

Frankfurt Until now, private investors have hardly been able to invest in company holdings (private equity), infrastructure projects, private credit funds (private debt) or professional real estate projects. That was reserved for family offices or private investors worth millions.

But now that is about to change. The key to the new investment world is hidden behind the abbreviation Eltif – European Long Term Investment Fund. According to a recent research by Scope Fund Analysis, a strong uptrend dominated the Eltif market in 2022.

Compared to the previous year, it grew by a little more than 50 percent to around 11.3 billion euros. An EU law amendment should also give the market considerable momentum again this year and especially from next year. With it, the minimum investment sums are lowered, the investment spectrum is broadened and a separate suitability test and an asset check of the investors are no longer necessary.
