Berlin, Düsseldorf The subject sounded sober, the employee’s tone drastic. “Irregularities in the shell construction contract” was written above the email that a leading employee of the project developer Consus sent to CEO Theo Gorens and several colleagues in July 2020. The manager warned the top management of “incomprehensible contradictions”.
It was about the Offenbach Kaiserlei project, for which the subsidiary of the Luxemburg-based Adler Group is still responsible. The manager announced that “various shell workers had been commissioned for one and the same service”. In addition, neither the use of materials “by the suppliers commissioned by ‘us” would be in proportion, nor the “unsustainable wage hours”.
