Istanbul Inflation in Turkey continues to rise. In June, the cost of living rose to 78.62 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the national statistical office in Ankara on Monday. In the previous month, the inflation rate was 73.5 percent.
That sounds like social explosives, like a crisis and like collapse. But the economy is booming. In the largest Turkish metropolis, the restaurants are full. Unemployment has been constant for months, and planes across the country are often filled to capacity. And anyone who wants to give a job to craftsmen is hearing more and more often that they have a number of other jobs to complete first.
