san francisco It spawned tech companies like Airbnb, Stripe and Coinbase: The start-up forge Y Combinator is considered one of the most important institutions for founders in Silicon Valley. From 19,000 applications, the organization recently selected 240 start-up companies, each of which will be supported with 500,000 dollars.
Long-term investor Bernhard Gold, venture partner at Relay Ventures, says: There are a number of excellent start-up forges in Silicon Valley, and the Y Combinator is the best known. It has also earned a reputation for being an early indicator of trends and developments.
What are the ideas in which a talent factory like the Y Combinator currently sees potential? The funded founders recently presented their business models and ideas at the so-called Demo Days. From the presentations, the Handelsblatt identified four central areas in which start-ups could currently be in particularly high demand.
