NASA begins training astronauts to go to the Moon

The astronauts will be trained for 18 months for the 10-day mission. Most of the training will take place at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and at the launch site, Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The successful completion of this mission, scheduled for November 2024, will pave the way for the Artemis III mission, expected in 2025, which will make the first crewed Moon landing since the last Apollo mission in 1972.

NASA’s Artemis program will use new technologies to explore the lunar surface more than ever before. The ultimate goal is to establish the first long-term presence on the Moon and potentially use the celestial body as a launch pad for the first crewed mission to Mars.
