That’s why Richard Moore, who has worked for MI6 for 34 years, says he will address the London-based think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies in the coming days, offering to be more open and partner with the private sector to find new technologies.

Additionally, he states that advances here and in data science in general will be attractive to both states and malicious actors such as terrorist groups. He also says he’s been paid to look at the threatening side of the ledger and that MI6 is treating the world as it is, not as we want it to be.
Speaking about the integration of technology, Moore said:
Our enemies pour money and ambition to specialize in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and synthetic biology because they know it will give them an advantage. We cannot hope to emulate the global tech industry, so we must take advantage of it.
