Munich In the past, 24-month contracts were common in fitness studios. Many members have not done any sport for a long time, the membership continued. “But the zeitgeist of the new century is completely different,” says Jakob Jakubov, founder of the start-up Get Your Sports. “People want to be flexible and always want to try new things.”

This is not the only reason why the rules are being rewritten in the fitness industry. During the lockdown, many people rediscovered sport for themselves, and health has become more important. At the same time, however, the gyms had to remain closed for a long time. They lost many members, not all of them find their way back.

Get Your Sports wants to use this time of upheaval. Customers can book about an hour in a boxing class or yoga group via the platform. For example, a one-time fee of ten euros is due for this, a subscription or membership is not necessary.
