How stable is our power grid?

Dusseldorf The German power grid was one of the most important topics of all last year. The fear of power outages was great, but in the end, despite the problems of our neighbors in France, things turned out lightly.

Nevertheless, the question arises: How stable is the power grid? Especially if millions of heat pumps, solar systems, electric cars and charging boxes are to be connected in the coming years to promote the energy transition.

Above all, this requires a larger and stronger network. But the expansion hasn’t progressed for years. Why is this and how can our power grid problem be solved? That’s what the new episode of Handelsblatt Green & Energy is about, among other things, with the Germany boss of the transmission system operator Tennet.
