As you know, Samsung started offering 7-year Android update support with the S24 series. Unfortunately, this update support does not yet cover last year’s flagships. However, a Samsung executive on LinkedIn revealed that a new device will receive Android updates for more than 7 years.
8-year Android update promise for Galaxy Tab Active 5 EE
Apple’s long-lasting update support is no longer a dream for Samsung users. The new S24 series comes with Android update support for as long as 7 years. Samsung, on the other hand, is trying to beat this record for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition tablet model.
Samsung France Mobile Experience Marketing Director Philippe Duchene published a post on LinkedIn, which he later deleted. The post included important information for the new Galaxy Tab Active 5 EE tablet for corporate customers.
The most important of this information was the promise of 8 years of Android updates for the Active 5 EE tablet. It is not known whether Samsung has reviewed this policy after the post was deleted. However, there is a possibility that the manager shared this good news with excitement beforehand.
Galaxy Tab Active 5 specifications
The Active 5 EE tablet has not been released yet, but Samsung is introducing the model to business people at fairs. Both the Galaxy Tab Active 5 and Enterprise Edition models are expected to be officially introduced this month. The durable tablet will appear with a case that is resistant to drops from 12 meters.
In fact, this is not the first Android update privilege that Samsung has made for corporate customers. Previously, the company implemented a four-year Android update policy and provided five-year Android update support for corporate devices.
