In In Thuringia, the corona incidence increased significantly and was 338.2 on Wednesday. The day before, the number of weekly new infections with the coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants was still 306.5, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). This means that Thuringia continues to be the state with the highest seven-day incidence.
With the exception of the Nordhausen district (195.3), all municipalities were above an incidence of 200 on Wednesday – the threshold for triggering the third warning level in the Thuringian early warning system. If the value is three days higher and the proportion of Covid 19 patients in the intensive care beds that can be operated nationwide remains above the value of 12.0 percent, further restrictions should apply. On Tuesday, the intensive care bed occupancy rate broke this value for the first time and was 12.6 percent.
In the district of Sonneberg, the incidence on Wednesday was 538.2 – the district is one of the three most affected municipalities in Germany.
