The President of the Economic Council of the CDU calls for taxes to be reduced on middle incomes but not increased on high incomes.

Berlin When Robert Habeck appears at the Economic Day of the CDU Economic Council on Monday, he can expect a much cooler reception than when he appeared a year ago. At that time, the managers and family entrepreneurs received the Federal Minister of Economics with benevolent applause. As the first Green to head Ludwig Erhard’s Federal Ministry of Economics, he spoke on stage about the social market economy.
Since then, a year in government has passed, which on the part of Habeck was characterized by debates about excess profit taxes, electricity price brakes and the principle of further reducing carbon dioxide emissions despite the risk of greater economic disadvantages. The President of the Economic Council of the CDU, Astrid Hamke, therefore expects less goodwill for the minister on Monday and scolds: “Robert Habeck represents a controlled state economy with his narrow guidelines.”
