Youtuber Siraj Raval said in an interview with CNBC that he used the 2018 Tesla Model 3 to mine cryptocurrencies.
In an interview with Siraj Raval, he talked about how he used his Tesla car’s onboard computer and battery power to mine cryptocurrencies.
Saying that he tried almost every way to mine crypto with his Tesla car, the young youtuber stated that he also did altcoin mining besides Bitcoin mining.
“When the price of Ethereum and Polygon peaked in 2021, I was making $800 a month from mining for both.”
Siraj Raval opens free Bitcoin mining software on his Apple Mac mini M1. He then starts his computer by plugging an inverter into the 12-volt cigarette lighter outlet of his Tesla car and starts mining Bitcoin.
Raval also connects graphics processing units or GPUs to the spare parts of his Tesla, powering these machines from the car’s internal battery.
Siraj Raval chooses another method of mining altcoins like Ethereum. Raval uses JavaScript to hack the Tesla car’s CPU and mines Ethereum and Polygons via JavaScript.
Stating that the method he uses involves the risk of voiding his car’s warranty, Raval says that despite the risk, it’s worth it.
