Salih Talay, Head of the Cyber Security Department of the Presidency’s Digital Transformation Office, Türksat made a statement on the subject from the Gölbaşı campus regarding the news of “e-Government user data leaked”, which is on the agenda of Turkey. In his statement, he stated that such a situation was not in question and that this situation was impossible.
Salih Talay said that there have been allegations recently that “85 million users’ e-Government data has been stolen”, but that the number of e-Government Gateway users is currently 63 million, which shows that the allegations are unfounded. He also stated that it is impossible for there to be 85 million data leaks from a system with 63 million users.

Stating that the websites where the allegedly stolen data were offered for sale were examined and they saw that the websites in question were predominantly websites with fake content, Talay said, “Registering on the site and sharing information poses a great risk for our citizens. The data obtained by the attackers in the past from different sources, mainly by the phishing attack technique, are being circulated again and again in different periods.
