Harvard Professor Kenneth S. Rogoff suggested that the financial anonymity risk brought by Bitcoin will put states in trouble, and therefore, states will go to regulations that will bring the end of Bitcoin.
Some economics professors from Harvard believe that Bitcoin will disappear after a long struggle. Finally, these professors, Professor Kenneth S. Rogoff also participated. Rogoff had the following words about the future of crypto coin;
“Small amounts of confidential transactions with digital currencies… although this is acceptable at first, as the amount grows it will become harder to tax and track crimes.”
Rogoff’s views were echoed by another colleague, Jeffrey A. Miron, with some softening;
“Governments can peacefully accept the existence of cryptocurrencies and not accept them as a payment method and dismiss the issue. However, I don’t think the states will be that positive in the end… I think there will be regulations to bring the coins to an end.”
It is a fact that governments will want to limit cryptocurrencies. Because we know that China has banned ICOs and is trying to block its trading on Bitcoin exchanges.
