Which countries have set which goals and what has to happen by then.

Dusseldorf So far, some countries have already declared themselves to be climate-neutral economies such as Guyana, Niger, Bhutan or Cambodia.

However, these economies have only a small industrial sector and therefore struggle little with the problems of the G-20 countries. Finland is a pioneer in Europe and aims to be climate neutral by 2035. Germany is aiming for climate neutrality from 2045.

Binding commitment or vague declaration of intent. The map shows which nations have already adopted clear objectives. Germany, for example, has already legally set its exit target for 2045.

The projection shows the effects of a low level of commitment to climate protection. If you “keep it up”, the 1.5 degree target cannot be achieved. By the year 2100 the world climate would have risen by 2.7 to 3.1 degrees.

The CO2 emissions are mainly caused by China. This country alone emits a good 30 percent into the atmosphere. However, the United Arab Emirates are the main per capita emitters.
