Tier 1 blockchain initiative Aptos (APT) altcoin The network said it has partnered with Google Cloud and will power some of the search giant’s validator nodes, among other services.

Google Cloud and Aptos (APT) Will Work Together

Speaking at a panel at Token2049 in London, Aptos co-founder and CEO Mo Shaikh outlined the details of the partnership with Simon Baksys, go-to-market and business development lead for Google’s web3 division.

“I think this is the first time a web2 and a web3 company has come together in such a meaningful way,” Shaikh said.

Shaikh said that Google Cloud will validate the nodes and join the Aptos mainnet. The Aptos blockchain will also be indexed and made available on Google Cloud’s BigQuery service.

The partnership aims to foster new talent, with Google and the Aptos Foundation launching a startup program, as well as hosting a hackathon next year.

The Aptos blockchain is already known for attracting Solana developers who are tired of “issues” on Solana and are looking for a more intuitive way to program decentralized applications.

Baksys said the following on the subject:

“It will be really interesting to see these two worlds intersect and projects that will be interested in using both Google tools and Aptos tools to produce something truly amazing.

We will definitely continue our world tour and work with the community.”

Aptos was a new blockchain founded by Shaikh and Avery Ching, who both previously worked on Meta’s Diem project.

The chain uses Move, a programming language built on top of the Rust language used on the Solana blockchain. Move was developed by Meta for the Diem project.
