Google Cloud introduced the cross-platform data storage engine BigLake!

Google Maps, the most popular of the directions applications, is coming to offer a better experience with the new features it has added.

Google introduced at the Cloud Data Summit

BigLake is a unified storage engine that simplifies data access by providing uniform access control across multiple cloud storage and open formats. In other words, thanks to the cloud system, developers will be able to access a single type of storage engine and perform their operations on a single system without the need to migrate data.

BigLake can receive transactions from data stores such as Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Google Cloud Storage. Gerrit Kazmaier, Vice President and General Manager of Databases, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence at Google Cloud, used the following statements on the subject.

Managing data between disparate lakes and warehouses creates silos and increases risk and cost, especially when data must be moved. BigLake allows companies to combine their data warehouses and lakes to analyze data without worrying about the underlying storage format or system.

As a function, BigLake configures security policies of administrators at table, row and column level using policy tags. The service will also integrate with Google’s Dataplex to provide additional data management capabilities.
