Good News to Shiba Inu Investors: SHIB Support Coming from Cinema Giant AMC

AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron has confirmed that the movie giant will add the Shiba Inu as a payment option. The company is currently working to bring the second largest meme coin to its customers:

“We are now trying to figure out how to get the Shiba Inu as currency. This is the next (coin) in the cryptocurrency stargate.”

After AMC first announced that it would begin accepting Bitcoin for online payments on its website and smartphone app by the end of the year, the world’s largest cinema chain continued to expand its list of options with Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Aron then took a Twitter poll to find out if the company should add Dogecoin payments after the meme received messages about the cryptocurrency. After the majority of Twitter users voted in favor of accepting Dogecoin, the company confirmed that the meme token will appear among the available payment options in the first quarter of 2022.

Following these announcements, AMC also received a “flood of comments” about the Shiba Inu. As with Dogecoin, Aron posted another Twitter poll to find out if it’s prudent for the movie chain to add another popular meme coin. With 153,100 users participating in the voting process, 81.4% of respondents supported such an initiative.

Aron says that despite pushing himself in the crypto market with more payment options, the company has found ways not to keep cryptocurrencies on its balance sheet. Therefore, the cinema giant will not be exposed to the additional risks associated with accepting cryptocurrencies. Finally, AMC is also considering issuing its own digital currency that the company can keep on its balance sheet.
