Github CEO Dohmke on the disruptive power of artificial intelligence

Dusseldorf He is one of the most successful Germans in the US technology landscape: Thomas Dohmke founded several start-ups, sold one to Microsoft, then moved to the headquarters of the tech group and today heads the programming platform Github. In the new episode of Handelsblatt Disrupt, Silicon Valley correspondent Stephan Scheuer and Dohmke talk about the programmer’s career path and how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world.

AI is developing into a co-pilot in all areas of life. Lawyers, doctors, teachers and students would work closely with the technology. The chatbot ChatGPT from the US start-up OpenAI is “exactly the right tool for learning more and more and knowing more and more,” says Dohmke.

With the Github platform, he has built an encyclopedia for computer programs. Software developers can save, manage and openly discuss different versions of their software there. Dohmke is now introducing the next stage of the platform and gives an outlook on the new technologies in the podcast.
