While Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that Turkey’s tourism revenues reached the highest level in the first quarter in history, he also announced when Formula 1 races will return to Turkey!

In Minister Ersoy’s evaluation, the importance of the increase in Turkey’s tourism revenues was emphasized and it was stated that steady progress was made towards the year-end target. These positive developments in the tourism sector are expected to increase confidence in the country’s tourism potential.

The most striking one among Minister Ersoy’s statements was about the return of Formula 1 races to Turkey, to Istanbul. Stating that the Istanbul F1 Field belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations, Minister Ersoy stated that the tender process in this area has been successfully completed and the second stage has started. It was stated that once the new tenant who won the tender settles in, work will begin rapidly to return Formula 1 races to Turkey by 2026.

According to the statements of Minister Ersoy, who announced the results of the investigation carried out on a hotel in Antalya that collected fees under the name of nationality difference, it was stated that as a result of the investigation launched into the hotel’s exorbitant fee application, in addition to the difference refunded to the guests, a serious fine (56,000 TL) was imposed on the hotel. It was emphasized that such negative practices are unacceptable in the tourism sector and necessary sanctions will be applied.
