Germany’s lateral thinkers and their love for Vladimir Putin

Berlin One might think that these were press releases straight from the Kremlin. On Telegram, lateral thinkers announce that Russia did not start this war, but is only defending itself. Demonstrators chant “Peace, freedom, no dictatorship”, but are not protesting against Vladimir Putin’s war of aggression, but against the obligation to wear masks in Germany. And the doctor Bodo Schiffmann spread the message: “Ukraine’s brutality is the reason for the Russian intervention.”

In the scene of lateral thinkers, corona deniers and opponents of vaccination, Russian President Vladimir Putin is massively defended for his invasion. Partly hailed as a hero.

The real aggressor, according to live streams and internet forums for days, is Ukraine. Or NATO. Or a group of secret elites. Definitely not Putin, anyway.

Why are activists who have been warning of an allegedly dictatorial federal government for almost two years now defending the actions of the Russian regime?
