Germany’s clinics are so digital

Germany’s clinics are to become more digital. That is why the federal and state governments are making 4.3 billion euros available as part of the Hospital Future Act (KHZG), half a billion of which has been paid out so far. So far, however, it has only been possible to speculate on how serious the digital deficits in the clinics actually are.

A large survey of 1,616 of the approximately 1,900 German hospitals is now providing nationwide data on their digitization for the first time. The survey is part of the KHZG and was carried out by a consortium called Digital Radar. All clinics that applied for funds had to take part in the survey.
