Berlin German exporters continue to expand their business outside the EU. Deliveries to third countries climbed to 60.8 billion euros in June, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on Wednesday. Adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects, this is 4.2 percent more than in May and 16.9 percent more than a year ago.

However, deliveries of goods to Russia fell noticeably, as recently, due to the war in Ukraine and the sanctions against the Russian government. There was a decline of 41.6 percent to 1.2 billion euros.

In June, Russia was only tenth among the most important destination countries for German exports outside the EU, after fifth place in February. At the end of February, Russian troops invaded Ukraine.

The USA was the most important trading partner for German exporters in June. There, the companies delivered goods worth 14.5 billion euros, 40.9 percent more than a year ago. Goods worth 9.1 billion euros were exported to China, 3.9 percent less than in the same month last year.
