Dusseldorf It has been clear since this morning: Gas is flowing through the Nord Stream 1 Baltic Sea pipeline again. At 21.5 gigawatt hours (GWh) per hour, however, the volume was initially lower than before the pipeline was shut down for maintenance on July 11 – but then rose during the morning

The gas flow is now at almost 40 percent, which would be almost exactly as much as before the maintenance. “We expect that it will stay that way throughout the day,” says Andreas Schröder from the market research company ICIS to the Handelsblatt. The gas trader Uniper also confirmed on request that 40 percent of the ordered quantities had been received since six in the morning. At full capacity, Nord Stream 1 can deliver up to 70 GWh of natural gas per hour.
