Dusseldorf In the middle of the heating season, the energy discounter Gas.de stops delivering. The corporate brand “Grünwelt Energie” is also affected. The company cites the current price explosion in energy purchasing as a reason. After the Brandenburg electricity and gas supplier Otima Energie and the Rheinische Elektrizitäts- und Gasversorgungsgesellschaft with the brands “Immergrün” and “Meisterstrom”, another major energy supplier is now leaving the gas market.
“The balancing group contracts with Gas.de have been terminated,” confirmed the market area operator Trading Hub Europe (THE) responsible for Germany to the Handelsblatt on request. The balancing group contracts regulate the supply of the energy suppliers for the market area. The termination took effect on December 3 at 6 a.m. THE did not want to comment on the reasons.
