Dusseldorf, Frankfurt For the employees of Germany’s largest gas company, this year’s Advent weeks are a time of trembling. This is not because Uniper only heats half of its Düsseldorf headquarters to 14 degrees to save energy. Physically, there’s no shortage of warm-weather workspaces. The employees of the ailing company fear for the future of their company – or what is left of it.
Uniper is supposed to be rescued on December 19th. Then the previous shareholders should decide at a general meeting that their company should be completely taken over by the federal government. But how much will the state intervene in the business of the group, which earns its money with gas and coal-fired power? This question drives everyone.
