Jill Sommers, a former official of the US Commodity Futures Contracts Commission, has joined FTX’s US arm, FTX.US.
Appointed by former US Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, Sommers served for six years at the CFTC, which regulates commodity markets in the US. He is currently providing financial advisory services to Patomak Global Partners.
Sommers now also owns FTX.US, the US arm of FTX, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges. will be on the board. Regarding his joining the FTX team, Sommers said:
“This company was founded on the principle of operating transparently and being the most regulated digital asset exchange in the world, and built a bridge between traditional assets and digital assets while staying true to these principles.”
