As the 2022 Formula 1 season is approaching its end, eyes are turning to the 2023 season. The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has also announced the new season calendar. Leaving some tracks out of the calendar in the new season, the FIA continues to increase the number of races.
24 races will be run in the 2023 Formula 1 season
With the statement made by the FIA, the 2023 season schedule of Formula 1 has been finalized. The F1 season, which will be completed with 22 races this season, will break the record with 24 races next year. The season, which will start with the Bahrain GP on 5 March 2023, is planned to be completed with the Abu Dhabi GP on 26 November.
The first big surprise in the 2023 calendar came with the removal of the French GP from the calendar. China, which has not been included in the calendar for 3 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic, returns to the organization in 2023. Qatar is also among the newly added tracks to the calendar. Unfortunately, Turkey is not included in the calendar.
Monaco and Belgian GPs, whose presence in Formula 1 has been controversial for a while, will be with us in 2023 as well. Formula 1 is moving to Las Vegas in 2023. In the city, which is described as the capital of entertainment, the race will be held on Saturday night, if the FIA approves. Las Vegas; It will be the fifth street circuit on the calendar after Saudi Arabia, Monaco, Azerbaijan, Singapore.
The 2023 season will start two weeks earlier than usual with the addition of new races in Formula 1. Throughout the 2023 calendar, we will see race weeks held many times in a row. Especially July will be quite busy with 4 halves.
