new York The two cousins and co-founders of the private equity house KKR, Henry Kravis and George Roberts, are handing over the dual leadership to their successors Joe Bae and Scott Nuttall. As the company announced on Monday, the successors will take up their new roles with immediate effect.

The now 77-year-old Kravis and Roberts founded KKR in 1976 together with Jerome Kohlberg, who died six years ago. At that time they were pioneers of the investment companies, which buy up mostly troubled companies in order to restructure them and sell them on at a profit.

Today, KKR manages $ 429 billion worth of corporate investments. Over the years, KKR has also invested in Autoteile Unger, Pro Sieben, Wincor Nixdorf and Hertha BSC in Germany.

The new Co-CEOs Bae and Nuttal have been Co-Presidents for the listed company since July 2017. They have long been considered the likely successors of the founding duo.
