There is a general election on Sunday: many top positions in the ministries will soon be filled – this also applies to the Ministry of Finance. FDP leader Christian Lindner, Greens leader Robert Habeck and CDU politician Friedrich Merz would be potential candidates for the post. The strategic approaches of the aspirants for the future financial policy of Germany could hardly be more different: From tax increases to tax cuts – the candidates pursue very different goals according to their party line.
