The Starlink project, which Elon Musk has invested in for a long time, has become a problem for the scientific world. Although it was approved by the USA with open support, serious grunts began in scientists and in some countries. For this reason, the growth policy of Starlink company can be stopped.
Starlink project can be stopped by force: Will its arrival in Turkey be delayed?
The idea of satellite internet has been on the agenda of the whole world for many years. Of course, Elon Musk’s company is not unrivaled in this regard. But we can say that it dominates the industry on its own. It currently has more than 2,000 satellites in orbit. Moreover, it managed to get permission from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to increase this number to 40 thousand by 2027. But the growth planned by Starlink can be stopped.
As you can see from the image above, Starlink satellites have become visible even though their number is only 1 in 20 of the planned number. The biggest reason for this is that unlike other satellites, it is not in the middle (2 thousand – 35 thousand km) but in low earth orbit (160 – 2 thousand km).

Starlink starts to be used in African countries. So, what will be the Starlink internet price for Africa?
Many people who take long exposure pictures of the universe at night say that Starlink satellites interfere with their work. A similar situation is expressed by astronomers working at the observatory. For example, the Simonyi Research Telescope, which is currently under construction, will process 500 petabytes of images when completed. It will record the universe every night for about 10 years.
But even when the number of Starlink satellites is at the level of 2,000, it poses an obstacle to photographers. When it reaches 40 thousand in 5 years, it will become a serious problem for observatories. We need to think of this not only as taking place in the photo frame we see, but also as the corruption of the processed data.
Because it is possible to ignore a distant object. But even the light reflected by 40,000 satellites less than 2,000 kilometers away will distort data on stars and galaxies millions of kilometers away.
In addition, international planning is required so that even a simple rocket to be launched into space can pass the low orbit without colliding with 40,000 satellites. When we add hundreds of thousands of metal pieces, which we describe as space junk, from 1-2 millimeters to 10 meters in size and speed up to thousands of kilometers per hour, things get very dangerous.
For this reason, many countries and academics, especially China and Russia, say that this project should be stopped immediately. If not cancelled, he wants at least 20-fold growth to 2027 to be delayed until a solution is found. If this happens, we can say that the project will be suspended indefinitely in countries such as Turkey, where it has not yet started service.
