EU wants to freeze Putin and Lavrov’s personal assets

Brussels, Paris The EU, US and UK sanctions plans are also aimed at Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The states gradually announced this over the course of Friday. Specifically, it should be about asset freezes. According to reports, an entry ban is not planned. This move is intended to keep diplomatic channels open.

It was initially unclear when and how the asset freezes against Putin and Lavrov would be implemented. In the case of the EU, it was said on Friday that the community is initially waiting to see whether Moscow is ready for talks.

According to the Russian government, the sanctions are an expression of “absolute impotence” on the part of the West. With these words, the RIA news agency quoted a spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Friday evening.
