Ethereum Foundation Manager Danny Ryan Talks About 2023 and ETH Completion!

Ethereum Foundation manager Danny Ryan explained his thoughts on 2023 in a long analysis he shared on GitHub.

Danny Ryan reviews the past five years of Ethereum (ETH) and its achievements in particular, such as the successful completion of the Proof-of-Stake transition and Merge.

He states that Ethereum is in a good position for the future while its competitors falter. However, Ryan acknowledges the challenges ahead, such as regulatory action and the need for scalability and stability for layer 2 protocols.

Overall, Ryan expresses his optimism and confidence that Ethereum can overcome these challenges and continue to innovate.

“Ethereum Has 5-10 Years to Complete”

Ryan explained his thoughts in his article:

“The technical roadmap ahead is long and complex, but I am not worried about our implementation and timeline. Because we have proven that we can perform at a high level and confirm that the ethereum ecosystem is moving in the right (and difficult) direction, making Ethereum more resilient at all levels.

The industry is full of scams, but ETH stands tall. Even in the depths of a bear market, ETH remains a founder and innovator. In an increasingly volatile global environment, ETH has found ways to make an impact in key areas.

A quick glance at Vitalik’s roadmap document will make you realize that we still have long and complex years (5, 10) before the protocol is “finished”.

But here, what ‘completion’ means is reflected in all its aspects – reaching adequate final status. Answering questions such as what is functional enough, secure enough, decentralized enough. The important thing is to be clearer conceptually and technically about what needs to be optimized and what the minimum threshold is.

Being clear on these issues will help us prioritize complexity/functionality and make the right trade-offs for years to come.”
