Dusseldorf, Frankfurt According to financial circles, Germany’s third-largest electricity provider EnBW is looking for an investor to expand its business with charging stations. The company wants to expand the network of charging stations for electric cars, which has been well developed so far, especially in the south-west of the republic, nationwide.

That may be done with the help of outside capital, according to people familiar with the matter. Advisors who could accompany the investor process for EnBW are to be mandated shortly. The exact cut is still unclear, no decisions have been made, it said.

Electromobility is one of the most important future business areas for EnBW with the highest expected growth rates, said a company spokesman: “With a view to this dynamically growing market, we therefore regularly examine various options to further strengthen EnBW’s role and its leading position in this market. “
