Electric Vehicle Sales in Turkey Increased 3 Times

The infrastructure works announced by the Ministry of Energy since the beginning of 2022, the approaching of Togg’s exit and the agreement of Elon Musk’s Tesla company with Turkey have greatly stimulated the electric car sector in the country.

According to the data provided by the Automotive Distributors Association, the number of electric car sales in Turkey is the total in the first three quarters of 2022 (between January and September). It managed to increase 3 times.

While the sales of diesel and gasoline cars, whose prices are flying, decreased due to reasons such as inflation and high exchange rates in Turkey, the sales of electric vehicles increased by about 3 times. It rose to 3,283. In the same period of last year, this number was 1,196.

Of course, falling sales of gasoline and diesel vehicles does not mean that sales of electric vehicles surpass them. Still first in sales Gasoline vehicles are next with 250,401 units.Diesel vehicles are in the second place with 60,316 units. When compared to the sales rates of 2021, it is seen that there is a decrease in the sales of this type of vehicle.
