The General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs made an official statement on the subject and announced that the posts in question were unfounded.

In addition to identity information, it was claimed that e-Government, the virtual state of Turkey that hosts the most users, was hacked. Today, approximately 59 million 44 thousand Turkish citizens have membership records in e-Government.

e-Government Gateway does not keep data such as population, Republic of Turkey ID Card image, biometrics, family, education, work or health data for our citizens; it is a door that provides access to the systems that hold this data.

It is understood that the fake Republic of Turkey ID Card images served were produced through fake ID card creation practices using publicly known information. The measures that can be taken for the individual, the main subject of cyber security, form the basis of our national cyber security.

Measures to be taken by individuals regarding data privacy, password and device security while using digital media are the most effective protection methods. All of our institutions operate in cooperation in the security of our digital infrastructures and cyber security awareness studies for individuals. It is presented to the public with respect.

In the statement made, it is stated that no data is kept within the e-Government Gateway and that the citizens accessing the e-Government system access their information from the infrastructure of the relevant institution after they switch to the institution they reach.
