Frankfurt The new boss of the fund company DWS, Stefan Hoops, has a soft spot for new, digital business models. During his time as head of corporate clients at Deutsche Bank, he hired a number of well-known fintech and payments experts. Hoops is now guiding two of his most prominent new hires to DWS.

André Bajorat, former head of the financial start-up Figo and most recently strategy head of the corporate customer division of Deutsche Bank, is to take over the management of the newly created Digital Strategy, Products and Solutions team at DWS from September. This emerges from an internal communication from the Deutsche Bank subsidiary, which is available to the Handelsblatt. Bajorat is to report to DWS Product Director Manfred Bauer.

“The team will act as a single point of contact for digital issues, with a particular focus on digital assets and channels,” the statement said. According to financial circles, DWS wants to bundle its activities for digital assets and currencies, digital channels and programming interfaces there.
