Dogecoin Support from the World’s Largest Cinema Chain AMC!

Dogecoin adoption continues to increase: American Movie Classics (AMC), one of the largest movie companies in the USA, announced that it will sell tickets with DOGE.

AMC CEO Adam Aron was the name to announce the development of Dogecoin. As we previously reported, Aron posted a survey on Twitter to find out if the joke-based token Dogecoin (DOGE) was wanted to be added as a payment option. Aron stated that he was amazed at the level of participation the Twitter survey received, saying:

“TOUGH FASCINATING! The Dogecoin Poll was by far my most read tweet. 4.2 million views in 24 hours, my most retweeted, most replied tweet. 140,000 votes 77% yes 23% no. It’s clear that you think AMC should accept Dogecoin. Now we need to figure out how to do this. Stay tuned!”

As can be seen, approximately 140,000 users participated in the survey and 77% of them voted in favor of the initiative.

AMC will have to look for a technical solution that will make it possible for its cinemas to accept cryptocurrency. In other words, when the technical infrastructure works for sales with dogecoin are completed, viewers will be able to buy tickets using the digital currency.

According to a previous announcement by Aron, the movie giant will add Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin payment options by the end of 2021.

The latest announcement got AMC stock in action: the company’s shares were up 1.7% at the time of writing.
