Saudi transfer deadline day LIVE: John Terry EXCLUSIVE, Liverpool face £215m Mo Salah bid, Veratti ‘to leave PSG’

CHELSEA legend John Terry is on the verge of agreeing a deal to manage Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabbab, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

The former England defender has had stints as an assistant coach with Aston Villa and Leicester, but now he’s set to be Saudi’s latest managerial recruit, following in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been offered a staggering £215million for winger Mohammed Salah.

Al-Ittihad made the eye-watering bid just hours after the Reds rejected £150m, and the Saudi Pro League window is still open until Thursday.

Elsewhere, Marco Veratti is reportedly expected the leave PSG after agreeing a deal to move to Qatar.

  • Man Utd could move for Palhinha

    Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha. 

    The Portuguese star looked set to move to Bayern Munich this summer, but saw a deadline day move collapse after the cottagers couldn’t find a suitable replacement. 

    And The Athletic are now reporting that United could move for the 28-year-old in January. 

    They would face competition still from Bayern who are said to remain interested in re-entering the race for Palhinha’s signature by The Evening Standard.

  • Mbappe not ruling out Prem switch

    Kylian Mbappe is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League next summer.

    The PSG star has just one year remaining on his current deal before he becomes a free agent next year.

    And according to L’Equipe, Liverpool is still a potential destination for the French superstar.

    However it has been widely reported that Mbappe is keen on a move to Real Madrid with PSG officials convinced a deal has already been agreed.

    It is most likely that the World Cup winner will head to Los Blancos next season.

  • Pepe heading for Trabzonspor

    Nicolas Pepe is reportedly edging closer to a move to Trabzonspor.

    According to Foot Mercarto, the Turkish outfit are advancing talks with Pepe over a deal. 

    The move would see the Ivorian join Trabzonspor on a one-year contract if all goes to plan. 

    The Gunners winger has also been linked with a move to Besiktas and also to Saudi Arabia, but it looks as if they could be off. 

    Pepe joined Arsenal in 2019 for £72million, but has failed to live up to his price tag.

  • Salah saga ‘over’

    Mohamed Salah’s transfer saga with Al-Ittihad is reportedly over.

    The Liverpool forward has been linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian outfit with the club said to be willing to pay The Reds up to £200m for his services.

    But it looks like the saga could have finally come to an end before Saudi’s transfer deadline day.

    According to Foot Mercato, Salah will now stay at Liverpool and won’t be making a move to the Middle East this summer.

    The news will come as music to the ears of Jurgen Klopp who has been desperate to keep hold of his star man.

  • Palace include new Olise release clause

    Crystal Palace have reportedly allowed for another release clause in Michael Olise’s new contract with the club.

    Olise almost left the Eagles to join Chelsea this summer after The Blues activated the Frenchman’s £35m release clause.

    But instead Olise signed a new deal at Selhurst Park that will see him stay in South London until 2027.

    However The Evening Standard, have reported that the 21-year-old’s new deal also contains a release clause.

    It is said that the clause doesn’t become active until next summer’s transfer window and it is not yet known what kind of fee would trigger it.

  • West Ham face competition for Lingard

    West Ham are reportedly in a battle to sign Jesse Lingard as the free agent assess his options.

    Lingard, whose deal with Nottingham Forest expired this summer, has been training with The Hammers at the start to the campaign.

    It is said that he has impressed David Moyes and the East London outfit are reportedly keen to offer him a short-term deal.

    But it won’t be easy with Football Insider now suggesting that Turkish duo Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are both interested in the 30-year-old.

    Any deal can be completed outside of the transfer window as a result of Lingard’s free agent status.

  • Mbappe ‘open to Liverpool move’

    Kylian Mbappe is reportedly open to a move to Liverpool once he leaves PSG.

    According to L’Equipe, the superstar could make the move to Merseyside in 2024 when his contract expires with the Parisians.

    He is said to be a big fan of the club and Jurgen Klopp with the German boss also a huge fan of his.

    However Mbappe has been long linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are certainly still considered his most likely destination next summer.

  • Bayern to relaunch Palhinha move in January

    Bayern Munich are reportedly going to go in for Palhinha in January after missing out the their man this summer.

    The Bavarians saw a deal for the Fulham star collapse on deadline day after the cottagers were unable to find a replacement.

    It was reported that Palhinha had even done media duties and posed for pictures with a Bayern shirt before the deal fell through at the last minute.

    But all may not be lost for the 28-year-old with the Evening Standard reporting that Bayern Munich are going to try and sign him again in January.

    It is also said that Fulham are willing to let the Portuguese midfielder leave if they are able to find a suitable replacement.

  • Veratti ‘expected’ to leave PSG

    Marco Veratti is reportedly expected the leave PSG after agreeing a deal to move to Qatar.

    According to Fabrice Hawkins, Veratti has agreed a switch to Qatari outfit Al-Arabi.

    It is said that there are still details to be worked out between the parties, but that the Italian midfielder is “very close” to leaving.

    The 30-year-old has spent the last 11 years of his career with Paris Saint Germain.

  • Celtic make contact over Liverpool star

    Celtic are reportedly eyeing a January move for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

    The Irish goalkeeper could leave Anfield in January in search of more first-team opportunities despite Jurgen Klopp’s adoration for him.

    According to TeamTalk, Celtic are one of a number of clubs to have made an enquiry during the summer.

    The Scottish champions have also been tipped to return for the £20million-rated stopper when the window re-opens in January.

  • Gundogan breaks silence on City exit

    Ilkay Gundogan has explained his decision to leave Manchester City.

    The Germany international left the treble winners to join Barcelona this summer after seven years in England.

    “City waited a relatively long time until the talks really intensified,” Gundogan told Bild.

    “In the end it was the perfect ending, it couldn’t have come at a better time. It was also my childhood dream to play for FC Barcelona.”

    An agreement on a loan deal is on the verge of being struck with Qatari side Al-Duhail, according to Fabrizio Romano.

    Coutinho agreed to join Al-Duhail last month after rejecting offers from Besiktas and Real Betis.

    It is understood that his wages will be fully covered by his new club.

    Former Wolves defender Romain Saiss has joined Saudi side Al-Shabab on loan.

    The Moroccan arrives from Al-Sadd in Qatar, where he played just three matches after signing in July.

    Saiss has completed his move ahead of Thursday’s Saudi transfer deadline.

    During six years with Wolves, Saiss made over 200 appearances and won promotion to the Premier League.

  • Ex-Liverpool keeper completes Bundesliga move

    Former Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara is set to join Wolfsburg next summer.

    The German side have agreed a £5.75million deal with Copenhagen for the Poland international to arrive in 2024.

    Liverpool will receive just under £2.5million as part of a 20 per cent sell-on clause included in his departure in 2021.

    Grabara spent five years at Anfield after signing as a 17-year-old but never made a first-team appearance.

  • Liverpool attempted Nunez swap deal

    Liverpool were willing to include Darwin Nunez in a swap deal for Joao Felix, according to reports.

    The Reds were one of a number of clubs linked with Felix before he joined Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid this summer.

    According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool were even prepared to offer Nunez to Atletico in order to sign the Portuguese playmaker.

    However, Felix instead rejected a return to England, also turning down offers from Manchester United and Aston Villa to stay in Spain.

  • Chelsea want new deal for youngster

    Chelsea reportedly want full-back Ian Maatsen to sign a new long-term contract.

    According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues want to clarify the 21-year-old’s future.

    Maatsen is out of contract next summer and Chelsea will look to sell him if a new deal cannot be agreed.

    Burnley had a £31.5million bid accepted on deadline day before the player rejected the move.

  • Denmark star rejected Liverpool

    Jesper Lindstrom has revealed he turned down a £25million move to Liverpool this summer.

    The Danish winger instead chose to join Napoli from Frankfurt in hopes of getting more game time.

    “There was Liverpool after all, but would I get playing time?” Lindstrom told Tipsbladet. “Would it be smart to go to Liverpool?

    “I’m a Liverpool fan, it says it everywhere. So it could also be an insanely cool experience.

    “But if I’m not playing, I might as well sit and watch them on TV for another club. I’m at an age now where I have to play some football.”

  • Gray nears Everton exit

    Demarai Gray is set to finally complete a move away from Everton.

    The winger had been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia during the summer but a deal could not be agreed before the end of August.

    However, with the Saudi window not closing until Thursday, Gray is expected to sign for Al-Ettifaq.

    Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal is now at an advanced stage with the clubs close to an agreement.

    Gray is set to sign a four-year deal with Al-Ettifaq once the transfer is finalised.

  • Turkish interest in Lingard

    West Ham and Wolves are set to face competition from Turkey for Jesse Lingard’s signature.

    The free agent has been training with the Hammers but is also a target for Wolves.

    However, according to Football Insider, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both considering a move for the midfielder.

    Lingard has been a free agent since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of June.
