Hamburg The Dax group Delivery Hero has officially confirmed its entry into the young fast delivery service Gorillas. The Berliners announced on Tuesday morning that they were leading the current financing round. Accordingly, they are investing 200 million euros and now hold around eight percent in the start-up.

Delivery Hero is the largest investor in the group that valued gorillas at 1.8 billion euros. In total, gorillas will receive almost 860 million euros. The Chinese retail group Tencent and the US investor Coatue, which has been involved since the first growth round last December, are also participating in the current third growth round.

Gorillas boss Kagan Sümer achieved a significantly lower rating with the deal than speculated a few months ago. “This investment underpins our global ambitions and the opportunities that the industry offers,” said Sümer.
