LG suspends product shipments to Russia
After Russia invaded Ukraine, it continues to be subject to the sanctions of many giant technology companies. The country, which has been deprived of many of the global products, will apparently suffer even more. LG Electronics, albeit late, joined the embargo caravan imposed by giants such as Apple and Samsung. The company made the following statements in its statement:
LG Electronics is suspending all shipments to Russia and will continue to closely monitor the situation as it emerges. We are deeply concerned for the health and safety of all people, and LG remains committed to supporting humanitarian efforts.
LG Electronics took a decision quite late compared to its competitors. It is not yet clear what underlies the timing of this decision. However, the intense pressure of company users is among the biggest reasons for this. Because LG’s image on social media was about to turn negative.
From the Russian side, things are getting very difficult. The country, which has already been embargoed by Apple, Microsoft, Samsung and similar technological companies, does not have many options to meet its technological product needs. Despite everything, LG Electronics had a significant market share in Russia, although it continued to import from some technology companies in China.
